DIPOXY-2K-5000 Pool-Paint
Translucent, medium-viscosity, premium-quality two-component epoxy resin developed for pool coatings, primers and demanding surfaces.
For professional pool coatings
DIPOXY-2K-5000 Pool-Paint is a translucent, scratch-resistant two-component epoxy resin. It is particularly suitable for producing high-quality pool coatings and for priming surfaces that are difficult to wet, such as contaminated, damp or wet substrates.
Important processing information
Caution: risk of overheating after mixing
As soon as the two components are mixed, a chemical reaction starts and generates heat. If the mixture stands high in a cup or bucket, the heat cannot escape quickly enough. A wide, shallow container is therefore preferable to a tall, narrow one.
Example: 300 ml of mixture in a narrow cup can become very hot after approximately 15-25 minutes and cure suddenly. The same quantity spread in a shallow layer in a larger container will generally remain workable for considerably longer.
Colour addition and opacity
The amount of colourant required depends on the desired layer thickness and appearance. The highest opacity is achieved with liquid colour concentrates without effects. They are also an economical way to colour epoxy resin and other materials.
Effect pigments are usually not useful in epoxy primers because this layer is no longer visible later. The pigment content is generally increased to achieve good coverage despite the thin layer. Exposed concrete or wooden floors intentionally finished transparently may be exceptions.
For medium layers, the pigmentation depends on the desired result: opaque, translucent, with a colour gradient or with the underlying layer remaining visible.
Filling the pool after coating
When DIPOXY-2K-5000 Pool-Paint is used as a pool coating, the pool should not be filled with water for at least 2 days.
If possible, wait 3 to 6 days. Depending on the temperature, this can reduce the risk of discolouration or lighter areas. As a general rule, the warmer the surroundings, the sooner the coating reaches usable strength.
Colour selection
The most common DIPOXY-2K-5000 Pool-Paint colours are shown in the following overview. In principle, any RAL colour can also be selected using the chart.

Other applications
DIPOXY epoxy resins are suitable for many applications, including jewellery, table making and River Tables, floors, ponds, aquariums and terrariums, as well as boat, ship, aircraft and model construction.
Moulded parts in silicone moulds and carbon, aramid and glass-fibre composites are also possible. The best results are achieved with DIPOXY effect colours and pigments specially developed for epoxy resins.
Coverage
The figures are based on our tests and are intended as a guide. More material may be required depending on the substrate, application and desired layer thickness.
1 kg of epoxy resin corresponds to approximately 1 mm layer thickness over 1 m².
